Thoughts From the Canine Mind
Max is a unique character.
For you browsers who are anchored in reality, Max is a ninety pound yellow Labrador who is the author’s devoted companion. He contributes energy, vitality and spunk to the lives of all who know him. He possesses an indomitable spirit, boundless curiosity and a general sense of cheerfulness characterized by a huge, constantly wagging tail. In real world terms, Max is a big, loveable dog.
On the other hand –
When the author seeks escape from the chaos and stress of the law practice, it is wonderful to mentally meander through the canine mind of Max. Much as Snoopy is a source of wisdom and wit for Charlie Brown, Max provides Robert Matlock with a diversion through the question: “What would Max have to say about this?”
In fact, this section of the website is entirely a diversion – a bulletin board upon which the author can post random thoughts, quotes and photos – all the while giving Max the credit/blame for its content.
Between snoozes in the shade of the back yard live oak trees, I contemplated how people exhibit behavior that is sometimes rather strange – even counter-productive at times. If a Labrador were to be placed in charge of training, people would be taught the very valuable tricks of the trade employed by us tail waggers on a day to day basis.
