The Family Code defines the specific grounds for annulment in Texas. They are impotency, fraud or duress, concealed divorce, marriage under the influence of alcohol or narcotics, and several others. Generally, annulments are available only in short-term marriage situations because the law requires that a person separate from the other spouse promptly after learning of the facts that support an annulment order.
